I am a brand new PTSS president at Sarasota School of Arts and Sciences in downtown Sarasota, Florida.  SSAS is a charter middle school.  Since 2002 our school has only collected $2,900 from Box tops for Education.  This year we have a new BoxTops coordinator and she has made a world of difference. She has gotten the word out to parents and students alike.  Because we are a charter school, we don't charge a membership fee to join the PTSS because it is mandatory attendence.  What is also mandatory at our school is volunteer hours.  our volunteer coordinator came up with a great idea that parents could work off their volunteer time by saving Box Tops for education.  What a difference that has made. For our first submission this year we expect that we will receive a check for $2,200 (that is only $700 less then we have done in the past 10 years.) Angel is the best coordinator a school could ask for.

I love that you shared the story and that you apprecaite the difference that she has made.  I know many of us out there have similar stories and I think it is great that you shared yours.  The saving BT to work off volunteer hours is a fantastic idea!!

Yes , thank you for sharing your story !!  "Angel" seems like the right name for your coordinator , too !!  LOL  LOL  Always nice to hear success stories like this one on the forum !!   Way to go !!

PTSS starts for Parent Teacher Student Society.  That's what our schools organization is called.
