I am the librarian at Snowhill Elementary School in Springfield, Ohio.  Last end of the school year I came up with this idea.  I sent letters home at the end of school saying this, "Save your "BOXTOPS) over the summer.  When we return each time your child/children bring in 100 BOXTOPS at one time they will be invited up to the library after the new books purchased from BOXTOPS to select a book.  A dedication will go into the book stating this.  This book was purchased through BOXTOPS donated by "Jane Doe"  They select a  book each time they turn in 100 BOXTOPS.

I already have one student that gets to select 3 books and it is on November.

love that idea.  We have a Birthday Book Club at our school.  and you can donate money for the childs birthday and they purchase a book with it and dedicate it to the child.  But i am also going to pass this idea along to our media Center/ Librarian at our school.  Easy contest to run all year round.
